Have you heard of the New York System? If not, here is some history of the system. It started on the 27th October 1904.There are many rolling stocks used on the system such as: R160, R143, R62, R9,R32 ,R1 (used for maintenance and cleaning) and the R134/R127 (used for garbage.) This system has the most stations in the world: 472 stations. They can run as either Local or Express. There are 27 lines in total.
The busiest station on the network is Times Square – 42nd Street with a ridership of 66.4M.It is connected to places like Coney Island, Manhattan and more! The names of the lines are just numbers and letters.

Hi UndergroundMaster67,
Wow – I 🧡 the way you’ve branched out into metro systems from other parts of the world! Have you been to New York? From what you’ve shared, it sounds similar to the London Underground – although I think I’d find using numbers and letters for the lines more confusing, espically as there are so many stations! 🚆
What do you think are the essential components of an effective metro system? If you were to design one for a new city today, what would you prioritise?
I’m learning so much from your blog posts, keep writing!
