Mr Dinner was not your usual sort of bear. He was short, purple, and menacing, and I am sure you will not be surprised to find out that he has his own gang.
His gang consisted of: Cat, Cat’s brother, Digger and Poppy, a rough and ready group of furry troublemakers, but they were very loyal to their leader Mr Dinner, and they followed him without question.
One day after much deliberation, they decided to rob a bank. They needed one million pounds to retire to a life of luxury in the Maldives.
They planned and they planned, and it was fool proof, apart from one thing that they had not considered that we will come back to later…
The plan was to have Cat posted to the bank in a biscuit tin, a bit like a Trojan horse, and when night fell, he would sneak out of the tin and open the bank, then riches would be theirs…
It was a clear, moonlit night, when the heist began. Cat has been hiding all day under a layer of custard creams, and when the clock stuck midnight he shot out of the tin to disable the alarm system and open the door. Mr Dinner and the rest of the gang rushed in and gathered as much loot as they could carry before someone saw them…
Their bags full, Mr Dinner and the gang rushed out into the street feeling exhilarated, until they saw what was in front of them.
Salty the Seagull, Mr Dinner’s nemesis, had his own gang and they stood in front of the bank robbers with their usual unblinking stares.
“Not this time” roared Mr Dinner as he flew at Salty, but Salty was too quick and Mr Dinner landed face first in a muddy puddle. Soon everyone got in on the fight, and you could not tell feathers from fur.
Suddenly the noise of a siren filled the air and flashing lights lit up the street.
Salty and his gang quickly took to the skies and safely landed on the bank’s roof so they could watch the commotion below.
Before they knew what was happening Mr Dinner and the gang were surrounded and all they could hear was the sound of handcuffs being snapped upon their wrists.
As he was thrown into the back of the police van Mr Dinner looked back at the bank and saw Salty sat proudly on the roof, a smug hint in his unblinking stare.
Mr Dinner roared in anger and frustration “I’ll be back, seagull, just you wait, vengeance will be mine”.
Mr Dinner shouted and raged as the police van was driven away but Salty just sat there, unmoving and unworried.
Salty and Mr Dinner will meet again, but what will happen next time…?
