INCIDENTS
First story:
When my dad was little, he went under a car. He didn’t look both ways and his parents were on the other side of the road. In those days, there wasn’t many cars around (like now a days) so he just crossed the road and went under a car, but he is perfectly fine (I know,he is very amazing)!
Second story:
When my dad was my age, he cooked by himself. His sister called him and the pan of hot water spilt on him. He had to stay 6 months in Hospital but when he got out he had to have regular visits and he is still ok.

I love the way that you’ve selected these ‘incidents’ from your dad’s childhood that have captured your imagination.
As a reader, I would like you describe so much more – the gory details (there must have been gory details!), your dad’s thoughts and feelings (and yours, too), the reactions for those around him etc. I don’t know if you’ve read Roald Dahl’s ‘Boy: Tales of Childhood’, where he really captures the horror of a couple of similar incidents from his own childhood?
Do you already know these kinds of details or do you need to have another chat with your dad?
I also wondered what he now tells you about crossing the road safely and cooking.
